MASTER

BRAD RANDOLPH

Master Randolph started his Martial Arts training as a gift for his 11th birthday. He soon discovered a passion for it.

He received his 1st Degree Black Belt at the age of 15 and continues his training day in and day out. Master Randolph has been a leading competitor in tournaments since 1997, and in 2007 he achieved the coveted “Tournament Champion” – 1st Place in all three advanced Black Belt Instructor events: Kata, Weapons, and Sparring. In 2009, Master Randolph won 1st Place in the Black Belt Instructor Fitness Competition, beating over 20 black belt head instructors from around Colorado.

On March 2nd, 2013, he was inducted into the USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame as Martial Arts Master of the Year. On March 18th, 2017, he was inducted again as Master Instructor of the Year. He has been Head Instructor of Boulder Karate since 2003, loving every minute of it!

The father of two wonderful boys, Master Randolph understands parents’ needs for their children through the martial arts. He also enjoys training weekly with his lovely wife, Nikole Randolph, who is also a Black Belt with over 10 years of training.

When he’s not practicing Kempo Karate, Master Randolph enjoys testing his grit and appreciating Colorado’s beautiful mountains. He has climbed all of Colorado’s 14ers (mountains over 14,000′), summiting over 1/3 of them in calendar winter. He also leads Boulder Karate’s yearly Climbing For Cancer hikes, bringing dozens of Boulder Karate students and parents to the summit of eight 14ers so far, having raised over $40,000 for cancer research. Master Randolph applies the discipline he has learned through martial arts to physical challenges, pushing himself in pursuit of the highest achievements, having run two Spartan Ultra Beasts and recently completed the 41-hour GORUCK HTL (endurance event led by Special Forces).

Today, Master Randolph holds the rank of 6th Degree Black Belt and is committed to helping the community of Boulder experience how martial arts can change their lives, inside and outside the dojo!

MASTER

KALEY DYSERT

Master Kaley has been studying the Martial Arts since she was a child. She first achieved her Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, then switched to Kempo over 15 years ago. She has been continuing her study of Kempo ever since. Master Kaley currently holds the rank of 5th Degree Black Belt in Kempo.

Master KALEY DYSERT

As far as competition and demonstrations go, Master Kaley is a veteran. She has won trophies in state-wide and national tournaments and has performed Martial Arts demonstrations at countless events, including a Denver Nuggets game.

Everyone loves Master Kaley. Her passion for the Martial Arts never seems to relent, whether she’s training or teaching. She is one of the most creative instructors around and enjoys challenging students of all ages with her new drills to keep training fun year-round.

Parents also appreciate Master Kaley because she intuitively knows how to lovingly deal with whiny kids. If a child is trying to get out of doing their Karate class, Master Kaley is often able to work her magic and inspire the child to want to hop in, and they love her for it in the end!

Kids, teens, and adults of all ranks respect Master Kaley because she is knowledgeable, sincere, friendly, and fun! It’s no surprise she has won multiple Instructor of the Year awards.

SENSEI

JON KALVIG

Sensei Jon has been training in Shaolin Kempo since he was 10 years old. He started training as an extracurricular activity while also doing team sports like football. He truly fell in love with martial arts once he saw what it did to him as a human being growing up in a household that was very chaotic and difficult for some time. “Karate helped me handle a lot of situations that were rather difficult while growing up.”

When it comes to teaching, Sensei Jon loves to see his students succeed not only at the dojo but also outside the dojo. “For someone who had a rough growing up, my instructors were amazing at helping me focus on myself and the things that I could control.” He wants to pass along that same type of teaching to his students. Whenever possible, Sensei Jon goes above and beyond when it comes to helping others. It’s one of the characteristics that we love so much about him.

As one of the only instructors, who has had to use what he has learned in real life, he brings a realistic approach to how situations can unfold in a blink of an eye. He really excels in how well he can switch from teaching kids to teens to adults when teaching about the real-life aspect of what it would be like to defend themselves. “Having to defend myself in real life, I can tell you that everything we teach does work as long as you practice it the right way.”

SENSEI

JACKSON WHITE

Sensei Jackson White embodies over a decade of dedicated practice in Shaolin Kempo, cultivating expertise and philosophy through disciplined commitment. For Sensei Jackson, martial arts transcend mere physical training—it's an art of self-expression. His journey through Shaolin Kempo has been a testament to pushing the boundaries, not just physically, but also in cultivating a mindset of continuous growth.

At Boulder Karate, Sensei Jackson's passion extends beyond the dojo. He's an advocate for applying martial arts principles to everyday life, believing that our five values: Attitude, Integrity, Respect, Self Control, and Heart can be applied in all areas of life—whether it's navigating relationships, thriving in business, or facing adversity.

Driven by his love for how martial arts intersect with real-life scenarios, Sensei Jackson brings a refreshing perspective to the dojo. His ability to link martial arts concepts to broader life applications resonates with students, inspiring them to embrace the martial arts journey as a path to personal development beyond the physical realm.
